Vision & values
Five values, written in plain language, that we actually assess conduct against.
Honesty
You say what you did, including when it will cost you. Copied homework is treated as a serious matter here, from Grade 3 upwards.
Respect
You speak to the guard, the cleaner and the Principal in the same tone of voice. Staff are held to this as strictly as students.
Effort
You finish what you start, and you attempt the question you find difficult before asking for the answer.
Service
You contribute to the place you belong to. Every student from Grade 6 upwards completes a service commitment each year.
Curiosity
You ask the second question. Teachers are expected to make room for it, even when it costs five minutes of the lesson plan.
How values appear in daily school life
A value only exists if something in the timetable protects it.
In reports
Termly reports carry a conduct section written by the class teacher against these five headings, with examples rather than grades.
In assemblies
Monday assembly takes one value per month. Students, not staff, present the case study.
In the house system
House points are awarded for service and effort at least as often as for winning a match or a quiz.
